■ House Cleaning Robots & CoBots: Ever since Rosie the Robot Maid on the Jetsons animated TV show in the early 1960s, we have all been fascinated with the idea of Collaborative Domestic Robots and Assistive Robots who could appear from a sliding panel in the kitchen wall and zoom around the house: cleaning, serving us martinis, fixing dinner, and generally making our lives easier.
What is a CoBot? It is a Collaborative Robot, a robot that is engineered to help humans, and to need their interaction in order to fulfill their tasks. Thus, CoBots are the perfect smart-home robots.

Roombas are even smart enough to return to their charging dock before the battery runs down, helping its human owners avoid the hassle of trying to find it under the couch somewhere. Thus, Roomba is a perfect starting place to discuss Household Robots and CoBots.
